SBPL Browse-and-Go!

Visitors can enter the library to browse the shelves and check out items while adhering to pandemic operations, limits and restrictions. While we are open for Browse-and-Go, visitors:

  • Must wear masks that cover their mouth and nose
  • Must physically distance from staff and other visitors
  • Must respect capacity limits of 30 visitors inside the building at a time
  • Limit their visits to approximately 15 minutes
  • Can continue to enjoy our virtual programming, digital collections, and online information resources
  • Materials that are currently being held within the South Brunswick Public Library

For Children and Parents/Caregivers:

Children’s books for our youngest readers and children’s non-fiction are not available for browsing. Staff are on hand to retrieve items for you from these collections and happy to make recommendations. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult while in the library.

Please return all materials to the outside return slot to the library.

Mobile Branch at Woodlot Park

NOTE: No one is allowed on the vehicle.  There will be books to browse outside the vehicle and requests of materials in the Mobile Branch collection can be requested in person.

Restrictions during Browse-and-Go

The following services are NOT available during Browse-and-Go hours:

  • Public Computers/Internet Access
  • Printers or Copiers
  • Fax or Scanning Services
  • Quiet Study Rooms
  • Library Seating
  • Meeting Rooms
  • Newspapers and Magazines
  • Extensive Staff Assistance
  • Food or drink not permitted

Pursuant with guidelines set forward by the State of New Jersey, the library reserves the right to close the library facility to the public again if mask wearing or social distancing measures are not adhered to and/or if COVID-19 levels within the State reach an unsafe level.
