Picture Book Collection

Suitable to share between parents/caregivers and children or children to read on their own, the picture book collection contains books relying equally on both illustrations and stories to engage children.

Board Book Collection

Primarily for infants and toddlers to learn simple concepts and recognition skills, board books are made of cardboard pages that can be easily maneuvered by little hands.

Beginner Reader Collection

Mainly serves as a transition between picture books and long chapter books for beginning or practicing readers, the books in this collection are formatted like a chapter book with controlled vocabulary, large print, and illustrations on most pages.

Non-Fiction Collection

The books in this collection such as fairy tales, poetries, songs, history, science, social studies and other informational books are shelved according to classes, divisions and sections in the Dewey Decimal Classification System.

J Fiction Collection

This collection consists of stories in different genres such as mysteries, fantasies, adventures, sports, historical fiction, humorous fiction etc. The books are shelved according to author’s last name except for series books. Series books such as Boxcar Children, A to Z mysteries etc. are shelved according to the name of the series in the series section.

Tween Collection

This collection consists of fiction books appropriate for children ages 8 to 12. Books in this collection are usually longer and have a more sophisticated content.

Audio Book Collection

Listening to audio books helps children develop active listening skills which are essential in learning. Children with good listening skills also develop good social skills and are more focus in the classroom.
