Don’t know what to read – Search the Catalog

BUILD A BETTER WORLD is the theme for Adult Summer Reading this year.  It starts June 19 and runs through August 12.  Fill out a Prize Entry form for every book you read and submit them at any of the public desks as you finish.   No registration required!

  • Read any book and submit a “Prize Entry” form or a “Read to Me” form that can be used for reading books to children.

  • Submit your forms as soon as you finish the book. There will be a weekly prize drawing on Saturdays from the entries submitted during that week. The first drawing will be June 24 and the last drawing will be August 12.  Winners will be notified.

Starting June 19, forms and collection boxes will be available at the Information and the Check-Out Desks.  You can print a copy of the form from our website sbpl.info/summer-read-adults but completed forms must be deposited in the box each week by the end of the day on Friday.
Check the calendar at http://www.sbpl.info/events-calendar/all-events/ for fun summer events, including films, workshops, presentations and crafts.

If you are interested in submitting artwork for the 6th Annual Collaborative Summer Reading Mural, contact bbattles@sbpl.info to participate.   You can find out more about this year’s mural at www.sbpl.info/events-calendar/summer-reading/

There will be an assembly party for the mural on the morning of August 12 at 12:00 noon followed by a reception with light refreshments and the Lincoln Center Screening of Simple Gifts: The Chamber Music Society at Shaker Village at 2:00 p.m.
