JOB OPENING:

Supervisor of Borrower Services—South Brunswick Public Library

 

The South Brunswick Public Library is seeking an energetic, customer-service oriented individual to manage its active Borrower Services Department.   The staff of the Borrower Services Department strives to meet the needs of the township’s diverse community by providing a welcoming, friendly environment.  This supervisor will lead a staff of library assistants and pages and manage the daily operations of the department.

Job duties will include:

  • Staff scheduling, training, and mentoring
  • Troubleshooting customer problems on a daily basis and negotiating solutions
  • Balancing cash register receipts and preparation of the daily bank deposit
  • Providing oversight to teen volunteers with the assistant of the Young Adult Library
  • Checking material in/out, answering phones regarding circulation related questions
  • Representing the South Brunswick Library at consortium wide meetings
  • Handling all phases of  sending patrons to collections
  • Assist with Readers Advisory

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associates degree strongly preferred.  High school diploma required
  • Minimum two years library experience or related customer service experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong keyboarding skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be physically and mentally able to complete all job tasks

Compensation:

Minimum salary $41,000.  Commensurate with experience.
